Guest /u/User_44017 Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 https://preview.redd.it/d837va5bzyld1.jpeg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=81d3272d9cf0cc38a73e4645a72d673d78e71438 so i’ve posted about this on both /imac and /apple, however i’ve still not been able to solve this problem. imac info: i believe it’s a late 2014 model, it has about 1tb of space. backstory: basically i bought an imac from a dude a year ago, i was able to login in smoothly and connect to the rest of my apple ecosystem. the imac was a mac os big sur version. i love messing around in blender, playing minecraft and the sims. however i wanted to try to convert my imac to a windows. i’m gonna skip that whole story because it’s kinda complicated and i don’t remember half of it, things happened and i ended up in the reset screen, with no saved data from my previous set up and the windows totally forgotten. my only option now is to reinstall a new copy of OS X YOSEMITE which i presume is the version that was originally installed on the imac. however i, alike you, thought “well ill just login and then install a newer version, simple right?” WRONG IM AVOUT TO THROW THIS EHOLE THIBG OUT THE WINDOW. basically, when i’ve downloaded the new copy of OS X it will allow me to connect to my phone and then type in the confirmation code, however it will not allow me to press “agree” on the next page ‘terms and conditions’. so i thought, lets just log in without apple id, but the os x yosemite version will only allow me to login in through icloud, but it says the password or the username/ mail is wrong(it’s not). so i tried downloading big sur, but it won’t allow me to without being logged in to my apple id. so as you see, i’m just in this sorta limbo at the moment. tbh my anxiety is getting worse and i really regret my greed to convert the computer. i forgot to mention in the backstory; i originally wanted to factory reset my imac in order to clear up space which i then could use on windows. please help me, and if there’s any information i missed or something you need in order to help me, please feel free to comment about it! i also have no problem connecting on snapchat or some other app where we can speak about the problem, seeing as it’s hard to make actual conversations over a post reddit lol. submitted by /u/User_44017 [link] [comments]
