How to Restore full system to an Identical Server (2008)

I bought 2 identical servers (1 is the emergency server).

So I set up Server 2008 on box 1 and did a full system backup.

I was surprised it did not ask for a CD/DVD to burn boot info - not to worry

I said.

I have now gone thru all the HELP in Server 2008 backup and Technet (OK so

maybe I missed some - don't be picky :) ) and I cannot find any info about

how to restore to another box.

The closest I get is a mention in "Recovering Your Server" about "Windows

Setup disc or a separate installation of the Windows Recovery Environment" in

the TOOL column. But it does not go on to explain 'how to'. Heck I even

looked in my "Windows Server 2008 for Dummies" book but you'd think I was

trying to work out how to go to Mars for all the help it was.

(Oh BTW don't you just love books that take up pages and pages going thru

say a wizard but not adding any other comments.)

Server 2 has no OS deliberately. I just want to recover to it.

....or something like Acronis TrueImage Echo Server or equivalent

Storagecraft product. I like image-based backups for this sort of thing. If

the hardware is truly identical, you don't need the additional universal

restore agent, but I usually get it.

I have Acronis for my desktop but I will not pay $1000 for software that they

sell for $100 (ish) for the desktop just because it's called a server -

that's why I paid $1000 (ish) for identical hardware.
