Guest david z Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 When I tried to turn off my PC, I click Start but all I get is Log off and nothing else. So I have to log off then click Shut down. How do I get it to shut it down from the Start menu?
Guest sgopus Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 RE: shutting down Sounds like you don't have the proper authority level in your account. Try this: Right click on the Start and select properties from the list. On the Taskbar and Start menu click Start Menu Tab and select this Radi Button: (*) Start menu click [Apply..] then [OK], Hit F5 do you get the Turn Off Computer option? Guest Andrew Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Re: shutting down I Use XP and Created a Shutdown Quicklaunch/Desktop Icon.. Create a "Shutdown.bat" file containing... C:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 0 -c "User ShutDown" -d up:2:2 then Create a shortcut on your desktop to it, Changing the Icon to what you will recognise as shutdown. See the info on Shutdown.exe in XX Help Hope its helpful. A.
