Guest ldiaco Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 So, the title gave you a summary of the entire problem. Seemingly randomly, Explorer crashes, and tries to restart, but Dr. Watson32 also crashes with it, and explorer wont work until the DrWatson32 program is terminated. There have been continuing intermittent performance issues including choppy videos, slow internet communications, brief freeze ups which last up to several minutes, inability to delete some programs and files on the desktop, while others are deleted without trouble, incorrect RAM totals, etc.. I was thinking about trashing everything, and reinstalling XP, but I really don't want to, since the way my hard drives are set up, Im not sure what exactly I would lose. Is there anyone out there with an idea? Can I somehow repair the windows xp install, or maybe there are some programs you might suggest. I have the latest drivers. Specs: ASUS Maximus Extreme Edition Motherboard 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo (E6850) 4GB DDR3 RAM (though says 3.25GB under system properties, 2.78GB under some programs, and 4GB under BIOS check) 3 HDs -250GB (H:, I:, Q:, Z:) -250GB (C: D: X: Y:) -500GB (J:, Z:, W) 3 DVD-RW's Video Card is: ATI Radeon HD 3870 P.S. - This all started happening after I added the RAM, but only after several weeks later.
