Guest /u/Tisapa Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 https://b.thumbs.redditmedia.com/bpIc8uy2eTs_SDCr9pFvOaZi0yGeDdZxAtSZg8ty0sM.jpg I like to read through the official iOS changelogs whenever a new version comes out and I had pretty much no expectations for 18.1, knowing that it’s very focused on Apple Intelligence which won’t come to my region (EU), but after installing the update I got VERY positively suprised by a feature which for some reason seems to be not even mentioned in the changelog?! Notification groups now show a number telling you how many of them are there for a specific app… This is ESPECIALLY useful in the scenario on the second image, which is a focus mode with the „dim the lock screen” option enabled, which used to make it almost impossible to distinguish whether there is only a single notification or multiple ones, because of the very low contrast difference between the layers of the notification stack compared to the light version! Seeing how bugged the iOS 18 series of releases is I’m still doubting whether it was worth updating so soon, but at least small things like this make the pain a little bit more manageable… (sigh) submitted by /u/Tisapa [link] [comments]
