With iOS 18, the photos that were sent to me in messages are no longer automatically in my camera roll, how do I turn this back on?

I’ve went to settings -> photos, and looks like everything is turned on that it’s supposed to be settings -> messages, and the same thing. It was on before I updated to iOS18. I can’t find a fix for it.
