Guest /u/CrypticSoldier Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 So for the longest time I've been using BlueBubbles to text my iPhone friends, which has been utilizing a mac mini, and my apple ID to send and receive the texts. All of my friends have my phone number. Only my apple ID was able to send and receive texts through iMessage. Since iOS 18 is finally our, and my friend group finally updated, I have abaonded BlueBubbles. I went on my Mac and signed out of imessage. I also dug out my old iPhone and disabled iMessage on it. Is this enough or is there something else I need to do? I just want to make sure that if they text me, it'll go to my phone number and not my apple ID, so I don't miss texts. I also went through every apple device I had and made sure I turned iMessage off. Someone said it could take up to 48 hours for apple servers to reliaze I don't have imessage anymore, but that I can force update conversations by texting people first? submitted by /u/CrypticSoldier [link] [comments]
