Why does Siri ask me which messaging app every time?

I’ve done a quick Google and everything relates to ios18.2 which I don’t have. I’m still on 18.1 on an iPhone 13pro. How do I stop Siri asking me which app to use for messaging and default to Messages? It’s deeply annoying, especially when I’m hands free.
