MB Air M3 - Monitor and drives disconnecting - anyone else?

I recently got a MacBook Air M3 (less than two months old), and it's been working great overall. However, I've run into an issue in my office setup: I connect an external monitor and a USB-C hub (external drives and Time Machine backups attached).

The problem is that while I'm typing, I occasionally bump into the connected cables with my left hand. This didn't happen as much with my previous MacBook Air M1 because the usb ports were further back towards the hinge. Now, with the added MagSafe connector shifting the USB-C ports forward, the connections are easier to brush against.

When this happens, my external monitor sometimes flickers as if it's being disconnected, and my drives occasionally get disconnected too. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Do I need to look into replacing the cables?
