Ready to upgrade my 2017 MacBook Pro, I need something to be able to render pretty complicated video files from AfterEffects. Currently it takes my laptop about 3 hours sometimes for a 6 min video so I know it's time.

My husband wants me to get: the 14inch MacBook Pro (16-core Neural Engine _ 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display2 _ Three Thunderbolts 5 ports _ HDMI port, SDXC card slot, headphone Jack, MagSafe 3 port _ Magic Keyboard with Touch ID _ Forcetouch trackpad _ 96W USB-C Power Adapter) at $3199

But I feel like the Mac Studio (Apple M2 Max with 12-CORE CPU, 30-core GPU, 16 core Neutral Engine) at just around $2k would be just fine.

I work from home so I don't need it to be a laptop. I need it to render videos and would like to be able to work on other animations while I'm rendering a large file from After Effects.

My friend who reccomended the Mac Studio said: "maybe would be good to ask on reddit how m4 max macbook pro compare to m2 ultra. Based off of stats I think mac studio will be better. More cores for both GPU and CPU and 2x more memory, and will have a much bigger heat sink to push the GPU harder"

I would like to enhance my workflow but I don't want to spend too much and have it be overkill.

Thanks so much for taking time to read!! any help would be very much appreciated!
