Have No Power Options Control

I just reinstalled my OS (XP-SP3 with all current updates) on my

laptop and when I went to configure my Power Options, it will not save

any of my changes/additions. BTW, I am signed in as administrator

with all rights. I have always created my own custom power options on

all of my computers and have never come up against this before so I

have no idea….

 

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.
