I really want to transition back to Apple but am I doing it the right way?

Hey all

Last iPhone was the 11, current phone Samsung Z fold 5 Last Macbook was 2012, current pc i built myself, rtx 3080, i7 11700k etc No tablet at the moment

My work life is rapidly evolving and I've been given multiple new responsibilities in the last 6 months which has lead me to rethinking the tech in my life and how my work flow could be streamlined. I work from home but with 3 young children and my desk now being in a common area it's not great being shackled to a desktop at this stage.

I'm thinking of keeping my fold 5 as it's paid off and I would rather not go back under a plan for a new phone but selling my desktop and integrating a macbook (possibly the pro) and an ipad in its place. I have some cash set aside for the transition but I'm not sure if the pro is needed or I'm just attracted to the shinier box over the air.

My logic is that I can use the macbook docked into my current setup for my day to day work but have the flexibility of walking it around the house or to a cafe when the house gets chaotic.

The ipad would then work as my meeting companion and media device for flights as they seem to be mounting up.

I'm not overly fussed about the loss of gaming on my pc as I have consoles and more backlog than time at the moment.

Am I on tbe right track here? I was looking at a used 2020 ipad pro which seemed a good deal today but I know I'll not have access to AI when it launches.

Any recommendations for my first venture back to Apple in a decade?
