Auto theme switching for custom icons

As the title suggest, I’ve found a simple hack to make the shortcut bookmark icons (custom icons) to follow system theme…

So… here’s how to do it

Steps:


  1. Get the glyph(png cutout) of the app icon you wanna use as shortcut bookmark with transparent background


  2. Open a png editor and add 4 tiny dots in the middle of all 4 sides of the canvas of the png and keep the background transparent


  3. Save the image

(I’ve also uploaded sample png image with dots as the 4th image in the carousel)

App used to edit PNG : I used “picture editor” by “App holdings” on android (unfortunately I’m still relatively new to iOS ecosystem. So I don’t know of any iOS app)
