Guest /u/sta6 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 So I bought a used Apple Studio Display (Nanotexture) and that piece looks premium. Very happy with the purchase and the price 1200€ for a barely used display. However the seller "forgot" to add the thunderbolt cable that the studio comes with per default. While I am working with him on a resolution, I found some standard usb-c cable and plugged that in. It works. However I have no idea of knowing: Is this performance I am getting now through the usb-c cable the same I would be getting through a thunderbolt? Or are there some differences? In the settings it says the current resolution is "2560 x 1449 (Default)". So what I essentially want to know: Do I really need the apple thunderbolt cable? Assuming he is going to reimburse me with money for the cable should I: Should I buy the same apple thunderbolt cable? Should I buy some third party like anker thunderbolt cable? Should I just keep the money and keep using the usb-c cable? PS: He is offering me 20€ for the cable haha. submitted by /u/sta6 [link] [comments]
