how to change apple id without losing all the data

so my brother uses my previous phone and he didn't change the apple id. and then i got a new phone, and i connected it to the same apple id. but now everything's messed up cause all of his stuff is in my phone and vice versa. plus to add to all of this, i recently bought icloud space and all of his photos synced on the icloud instead of mine. my phone is 64gb and the space is full so it's causing my phone to lag a lot, that's why i need that icloud space.

 

so coming back to the question, is there any way to change my brother's apple id now without losing his data? this was originally my apple id so im not going to change mine but if he does, will his phone completely reset or will his data remain?
