Guest /u/Realistic_Bug_7763 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I have no idea if this is the proper place to ask this or how to properly organize/tag this, if this is clogging the sub or anything please let me know and I am happy to move/delete the post and instead ask where it is appropriate. My iPad Pro (only a year old) updated itself to iPadOS 18.1.1, I have not yet updated my current phone, so being able to compare with one device running an older version is really making me think this is due to the new update. I want to try to give as many details as possible (just in case that helps) while keeping it brief? I can no longer have two media/audio sources playing while on a call, specifically in Discord. I think this might be because of the new audio rerouting update, but when I attempt to play /any/ media of any kind (even in my own camera roll or when not streaming in the call) while calling, my device now completely isolates that audio (I can no longer hear the call at /all/), mutes me, and seemingly ends the call until I switch back to whatever app was hosting it. It is not just with videos/media, while attempting to open other apps like Youtube, any mobile games, etc. it does the same. What happens: On a call Sharing my screen Opened website to stream a movie (also tried multiple sites) Could hear call perfectly fine only until I pressed the play button The moment I pressed play, the icon of the microphone that is usually in the top right corner (showing I am in a call) turns off I can’t hear anything but the movie audio If I try to pause it, it glitches horribly and even continues playing warped audio snippets when I close the browser Open Discord again, I am now muted (was unmuted before) but not disconnected from the call It seemingly reconnects me, works fine until I try to play media again or open other apps This has never happened to me before I updated. I call very frequently on Discord, have checked all my settings in both system settings and Discord’s settings and turned off anything that would possibly try to reroute audio (noise cancellation, echo cancellation, etc. etc. all are turned off). I have no idea how to fix this. TLDR; In a call, try to play video or open other apps, can only hear audio from the video/app and can’t hear call anymore, I am muted and almost disconnected until I close everything other than what is hosting the call (Discord) submitted by /u/Realistic_Bug_7763 [link] [comments]
