Can't decide between Air M3 or MacMini M4

I already own a Macbook Air M1, but the RAM on it is causing me a lot of trouble. I purchased that laptop when it came out and I have the entry level configuration.

My workflow:

I work as a manager and have a lot of calls where my camera is always on, I share screen a lot and I always have multiple tabs open in Figma. I'm editing and creating files all the time, but most of them happens on the browser as my company uses GSuite.

For the last few months, doing all three at the same time has not been possible. I checked in activity monitor and it seems the trouble is always the RAM being full. I tried switching between browsers from Chrome to Safari and even Firefox but the issue remains the same.

Two possible solutions:

  1. Exchange Air M1 for Air M3 that now comes with 16GB as a base configuration.

  2. Purchase an additional MacMini M4. I still keep the Air M1 as a backup machine, or for when I need to travel or go to the office (which I do once or twice a month). I already own a monitor and a good keyboard.

Second option seems really appealing to me because I'll be spending the same amount and will have two different machines. Also, the MacMini is more powerful and has cooling which should make it future proof.

I'm just afraid if owning two different machines would cause problems in managing data and apps. Having one laptop for all requirements is easy, but then I might run into issues again in a couple years like it happened with the Air M1.

What do you think is the better option for me?
