Guest /u/_Red_Triangle_ Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Hello! I'm using my MacBook in a library where I can plug it in a socket so it never drains the battery while I'm working with it. My issue is that the sockets are limited in the library and if I want to charge my phone I have to either plug it into the MacBook or pull the laptop out and plug the phone in. So the question is: Can I use my MacBook while it's plugged in to charge my phone? MacBook plugged into the socket, phone is plugged into the MacBook. Does it hurt the battery or can the laptop just route the power through itself without using the battery? My main concern is that the laptop uses the battery to charge the phone and not the energy provided by the power supply unit. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/_Red_Triangle_ [link] [comments]
