Escape Key: Do people struggle to find the space key? Of course not. The same goes for the Escape key, unless it isn’t placed in the top-left corner, which is not the case here. For this reason, I decided to remove its label, as its position has been universally recognized for decades. 2. Mission Control Key: I simplified the Mission Control key, which, by the way, does not match the Mission Control app icon in macOS. This inconsistency needs to be fixed, even if my redesign is not preferred. 3. Dictation Key: I applied a minor simplification to the Dictation key. 4. Mute Key: I added a strike to the Mute icon, which also does not match the Mute icon in macOS. This inconsistency should be addressed. I suggest updating both the Mute icon on the keyboard and in macOS to match the one used on the latest Siri Remote for consistency. 5. Empty Key Below Escape: Ignore the empty key below the Escape key, as it varies depending on different language layouts. 6. Dash (-) and Equal (=) Keys: The Dash (-) and Equal (=) keys should follow the same design approach as the number keys. Specifically: • The Dash (-) and Equal (=) signs should be large and aligned with the numbers. • The Underscore (_) and Plus (+) signs should be smaller and aligned with the symbols. I forgot to make this change, but it remains an important adjustment. 7. Delete Key: I applied a minor simplification to the Delete key. 8. Caps Lock Key: I simplified the Caps Lock key by merging the LED light with the icon. 9. Function Key: I simplified the Function key symbol to a single letter — F — to match the letter used in the function row keys. This change is much needed, even with the current alignment. 10. Control, Option, and Command Keys: I removed the labels from the Control, Option, and Command keys. These are obvious to Mac users, and even Windows keyboards — which have inferior layouts — do not label similar keys excessively. 11. Arrow Keys: I applied minor simplifications to the Arrow keys.
