Calendar app suddenly not showing reminders - apple support cannot help me

My Calendars app was showing all of my reminders. All of the reminders have randomly disappeared without me adjusting any settings or updating the phone. I have restarted the phone and the reminders still don't show up. I called apple support but the guy I spoke to had no idea. Does anyone know how to fix this? Google searches have not been helpful.
