Hello everyone,

I recently encountered an issue with Chess.com and Apple Media Services regarding the free trial of Chess.com’s premium membership. Here's what happened:

Timeline of Events:

I started my 1-week free trial of Chess.com’s premium membership on December 11, 2024. According to Chess.com, the trial was supposed to end on December 18, 2024. I planned to cancel the subscription before the trial ended to avoid any charges. What Went Wrong:

Chess.com deducted a yearly subscription fee of ₹3,799 from my account on December 17, 2024, at 11:34 PM—before the free trial ended. A notification regarding the auto-renewal was sent on December 16, 2024, at 7:14 PM, but it was only visible in the payment history section. It was not clearly communicated upfront. Apple Media Services Involvement:

The deduction was processed via Apple Media Services, despite my plan to cancel the subscription before December 18. I also made sure to cancel all related payments in every possible way before the trial ended, but the charge still went through. Current Status:

I am trying to request refunds from both Chess.com and Apple Media Services. Questions to the Community:

Has anyone faced a similar issue with Chess.com or other apps? What is the best way to approach Chess.com and Apple Media Services to get my money back? Any advice on ensuring these auto-renewals don’t go through prematurely in the future? I’ve already drafted emails to both Chess.com and Apple Media Services explaining the issue. I would appreciate any guidance or similar experiences from this community.

Thanks in advance!
