Guest /u/anon7971 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 My wife bought a new MacBook Pro for work yesterday. She currently uses a 27" iMac with two external monitors connected creating a three display workspace. She is very used to this setup and went with the high-end MacBook with the idea of re-creating the same setup with the MacBook docked in clamshell mode. This way she could also just undock the MacBook and take the system with her when she travels. It seems as though the employees at Apple were a bit stumped when recommending a dock that is capable of this. It sounds like most of these docks have dual external monitor support, and that is actually a limitation of the M4 Pro models as opposed to the M4 Max. One Apple employee recommended just getting three Thunderbolt to HDMI cables and connecting them individually but that didn't sound ideal. Google is returning a LOT of dock options, unfortunately the options aren't very clear so we're a bit stuck now since the Apple Store couldn't get us there either. I'm hoping this community has some solid recommendations for this workstation setup. Thank you all in advance! submitted by /u/anon7971 [link] [comments]
