I already own an M1 MacBook Pro (personal use) and plan to get the base M4 Mac Mini (256GB SSD) since I have a Samsung T9 external SSD. My idea is to store personal files on the external SSD for easy sharing between the MacBook and Mac Mini. (I mean in case of need, plug and go) I mainly use my Mac for coding (iOS dev, Xcode for personal projects) and daily tasks. However, I’m unsure if frequently switching the external SSD between the two Macs will be inconvenient. My MacBook Pro has 512GB storage with about 160GB free, mostly occupied by personal files that I could optimize. I’ve avoided carrying an external SSD daily but now plan to keep personal files on it to share between devices. Should I stick with the 256GB Mac Mini or go for the 512GB version?
