KenB Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Hi Roger Sorry for the slow response - I have been away on hols :) Start > Control Panel > Internet Options Select "Delete" Put a check next to Cookies / History / Temp Files ............OK By deleting the Cookies you will need to log in to sites like this with your login and password until a new cookie is put on your machine .......even if you have Windows save them previously. Try the site again. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
Rogerx Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 Hi Ken, thanks for the reply, done the options, deleted files etc, sync-ed the clock, updated Java, run CC cleaner, still not working, I think this is not going to be straight forward. Roger Quote

Rogerx Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 Hi Ken, the web site is http://4u4music.com/ , I have tried Opra and firefox, they did not show the updated site I have been down to my local libary and can see the updated site. Roger Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Although with what you seem to have tried it may not work but have you done a "Hard Refresh" of the page. In Firefox try hoding down the CTRL key plus the F5 key and see if that helps. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
KenB Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Try BeeCeeBee's suggestion. Is this the new site ? ( see attachment ) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test

Synapse Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Hi, I've looked at your problem from another angle, as the issue is only showing on your PC, and perhaps through your ISP? I looked up the DNS records of your site using whois.is, and NS1 is 46.252.200.42, which links to your site, NS2 is 188.121.60.147, which links to something totally different. Doing a reverse lookup of the 188 IP shows this http://www.domaintools.com/research/reverse-ip/?hostname=188.121.60.147 Very odd, are those reverse lookups sites yours? Quote
Rogerx Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Hi Ken tried that still not working, I don't understand, I cleared cache history, but when I started to type in the site address in the address bar, it auto completed, so I guess it must still have a record somewhere of the site. Hi Synapse, you are right, they are my sites but not, gihuor.com, I am using a developer to do the site for me, I think they must have put that one up, but its now expired, and godaddy are using the domain name for advertising, the other site has just a holding page. I will now try to sort that issue, thanks for bringing it to light. Roger Quote
Synapse Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Thanks for the info. Do you get to the updated site if you type in the IP address rather than the URL? Quote
Rogerx Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Hi no I still get the old site, go daddy say that site gilhuor.com has proberly listed the wrong IP address, but my server is with godaddy and a godaddy page comes up when I tried the site gilhuor.com , how do I check the IP address when the site is up? Roger Quote
Synapse Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I use http://www.whois.is for checking IP's, but there are loads out there. Quote
Rogerx Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Hi , I went on google and found you can ping a site , and it gives the IP address, I did that and it gives a different IP address than mine, so I guess thats ok. However I still can't see the updated site. I think this is not going to be easy resolving this. Roger Quote
Rogerx Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Bingo Bingo, Bingo, I unistalled my AVG anti Virus, ( coundn't work out how to switch it off) had a look at the site and I saw my updated site, so reinstalled AVG. I will now wait until more updates and see if AVG stops them. Not sure whats been going on, with AVG but I now have my updated site. Roger Quote
Plastic Nev Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Hi Roger, Firstly good to know you have found the cause of the problem, well done. I would remove AVG altogether and go for a different antivirus, most of us here will recommend doing that as AVG is sometimes nearly as much trouble as getting a virus. Plenty to choose from and these are recommended by our security and malware removal guys. What's more, they are free! Avira AntiVir ....installation guide Here Avast free MS Security Essentials . I am using the Microsoft Security Essentials myself and no problems with it. I would also recommend using a decent spyware and general malware remover such as Malwarebytes free too. Nev. Synapse Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I wouldn't have ever worked that out unless I removed the antivirus program and saw the new site come up. Nice one :) Quote
KenB Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Never heard that one before - well done for finding it yourself :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
