The dimmest setting of my MacBook brightness is slowly malfunctioning.

I have a Macbook Air, and in the brightness settings, there's the very last one which should keep it as dark as possible but lately the more I keep it dimmest setting (since I use it for music to sleep, I keep it dim as possible.) Lately, I noticed that I can peek through the left side of the screen and see it brighter than the rest of it in dim brightness. It also slowly crawls from left to right, so I'm left with half slightly dim and half dim screen.. I'm concerned it can't be fixed..
