Do you anticipate that people with iPhones that do not support Dynamic Island will be able to benefit from UI design updates moving forward?

My husband got me an iPhone 14 Plus for Christmas! I had an 11 so this is a big upgrade for me. I’m loving the increased size.

I have loved the look of Dynamic Island since it was released. This phone does not support it, so I did some research to see whether I wanted to get a 15 Plus instead. My conclusion is that based on how I use my phone, Dynamic Island would offer a purely aesthetic benefit. I don’t care about any other feature of the 15 Plus, so I’m leaning toward saving a little money and sticking with the 14 Plus.

My one concern is that I want to be able to benefit from UI design updates moving forward without being forced to upgrade my phone. What draws me to Dynamic Island is just the more futuristic, cleaner look of the notifications and animations. I’m concerned that now that there are only 3 iPhones on the market that do not support DI, Apple will stop designing iOS updates that offer anything new visually or functionally for these phones - we’ll be confined to bug fixes. This would result in a lower trade-in value, making upgrading to get around the limitation more costly.

If anyone has any insight, I’d appreciate it.
