PLEASE HELP: Compatibility Issues with 2016 Mac Pro (Touch Bar) and new Magic Keyboard and Track Pad (2024) links included.

I have disconnected/reconnected, gone through every system setting (accessibility, trackpad, mouse, and bluetooth settings) AND even killed all doc in the Terminal.

 

I bought these brand new to help with my use in Ableton for music production and I love how the feel but they won't work how I NEED THEM TO with gestures and function inputs.

 

Nothing seems to work. So before I schedule an appointment I figured Id ask you guys. IS IT A COMPATIBILITY ISSUE - LIKE AN AGE GAP OR AM I DOING IT WRONG?

 

I just recently purchased both items listed above for my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), pretty much the OG with Touch Bar.

 

Im not sure if it is a compatibility issue with my 2016 Pro and the 2024 Keyboard and

 

Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and Touch ID for Mac models with Apple silicon (Lightning Port) - Silver/Black: ( Best Buy Apple Magic Keyboard ) and it will not sync my fingerprint or allow me to prompt the keyboard to add any new fingerprints in system preferences. ALSO THE SPECIASL FUNCTION KEYS LIKE DASHBOARD, VOLUME, AND PLAYBACK WILL NOT WORK AT ALL. ONLY THE FUNCTIONS 1-12.

 

I have also had the same issue with my new Magic Trackpad ( Apple Magic Trackpad ) and using gestures. None of the 3 finger swipes, zoom with two fingers, or even SCROLLING up and down with two fingers will work. Its a bit frustrating.
