Guest /u/MakaveliXJ-R Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 https://b.thumbs.redditmedia.com/yPXThnveY1lAmzllkzmpoqLt7ZXEiKbQc1oKoOz52jA.jpg I find the various LVDS/whatever nonsense a bit hard to follow so do feel free to talk to me like I use Windows 11: I need to know what both the 27" Unibody iMac & the later 27" "Slim" iMacs use to connect the screen to the Mainboard/Graphics Card as far as "format"/Amount of Pins on the cable. I do know the older "Unibody" iMacs used proper Graphics Cards whereas the Slim models (or at least mine) have onboard GPU's. I assume, like with MacBooks, the Slim models with Retina Displays likely used a different cable but ---whatever. Basically, Pretend I have both generations of iMac in pieces in front me except the screen (& everything that goes with it) for the Slim & I want to make one fancy Mr. Potato Head of machine. Slim Internals & everything Unibody External. I can easily find the Cable & Apple MPN of the cable for the Unibody but don't beleve I was able to properly know the "format"/output of said cable. Thank you x100 in advance & hope everybody has a wonderful new year ahead of them. https://preview.redd.it/3thtv2kp0j9e1.png?width=675&format=png&auto=webp&s=d36c8b16ec12b7954e7089ed73148bee13215482 submitted by /u/MakaveliXJ-R [link] [comments]
