Guest /u/UnsurePlans Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I'm saying goodbye to my 2017 MacBook Air, and buying a 2024 MacBook Air M3. I'm upgrading because it's gotten slow, and the battery dies at 50% if unplugged. My 2017 has 121GB of flash storage. At the moment, 21.57GB of that is "macOS", and 26.79GB of that is "System Data". The rest are from docs, photos, and available storage. Question: How do I make sure that I don't transfer unnecessary (or harmful) files to the new MacBook Air? Is Migration Assistant enough? I think I have 200GB of iCloud storage. Do I have to do a "cleanup" before doing the transfer? I'm not a very techie person, so if anyone can give me a step-by-step, I'd be super grateful. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/UnsurePlans [link] [comments]
