Guest Jack Gillis Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I wanted to take a look at boot.ini under XP SP3 but had forgotten just where it was. I opened C: via Windows explorer and Searched for it but nothing came up. 'Show hidden files and folders' is checked in Folder options and 'Do not show system files' is not checked either. So I took a careful look at the root of C: and there it was. My question is why didn't Search find it? No big deal, just curious. Thank you

If so, that's the reason. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Jack Gillis" <xxxx@dummy.com> wrote in message news:ei0tTLtOJHA.1160@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >I wanted to take a look at boot.ini under XP SP3 but had forgotten just >where it was. Guest Jack Gillis Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Re: Search Does Not Find Boot.ini Thank you. No, I do not have such a mark there. Guest Jack Gillis Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Re: Search Does Not Find Boot.ini Thank you. I sort of figured that. But, how do I go about instructing it otherwise as you suggest? Thanks again. Guest Bob I Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Re: Search Does Not Find Boot.ini Click the "Change files and folder search behavior" button, and change to advanced, and then set it where to look.
