Hi, I downloaded the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 Free Trial..it asked me what one I wanted ie. 32 bit or 64 bit...it says we recommend 64 bit so that's what I downloaded.

Download all done but it came up that I shouldn't have downloaded 64 bit as I don't have the capacity or something similar...I should have downloaded 32 bit.

It came up with ways to resolve it but as I'm not computer literate it's so confusing.

Can anyone please explain to me what I should do to resolve this and get it running properly.

Running Windows 7.

Many Thanks

Where did you get the trial version? Was it from Microsoft?

Has this machine ever had any Office products on it before (trial or otherwise)?

Hi if your looking for a FREE office suit which is 'compatable' with Microsoft then try' OPEN OFFICE' it covers most if not all of the same areas.

It lokks to me like you would need to purchase the Microsoft suit to obtain a code while the above is compleatly free and lagit.

There is no question about it, once your trial is over you need to buy the office products in order to continue using them. Open office should work with those templates but I am not sure. He is a download site but keep in mind that it is CNet so be careful what you click on and don't accept any recommended toolbars etc.

Having always used Microsoft Office Products I am not all that conversant with open office. However it does appear that Apache Open Office which, I think, is was once run by Oracle is now part of openoffice.org and seems to represent their latest offering. I am sure there are others here more familiar with Open Office but I can see no harm in giving Apache open office a try. The problem may be that the templates that you are trying to download may be very specific to Word.

Looking at your link to the poster then if you use open office-- 'Publisher or Power point'-- you can create your own poster, ive just done a quick tester, no problem. Just creat text boxes and insert photos ect. Good luck.:o

Hi, at some stage, all Microsoft Office software has to be paid for to continue to use it.

However, if no luck with Open Office, there is another I learned about recently and I am quite impressed as it seems to handle Microsoft documents and files a little better and it is called Kingsoft Office.

Download it from here=
