PEV Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Hi I am posting this on behalf of my wife. Not sure if this is right place for this post so have copied elsewhere hope this is appropriate. She has a Zoostorm Netbook running Windows 7 starter. On return from our holiday she tried to access via her password but forgot it and tried several times with what she now knows are incorrect passwords. Now using the correct password she just gets the message 'password user name incorrect' and cannot get in. Can someone help please? Ray on behalf of Chris Quote

PEV Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 Hi Ken Thanks for the advice and I did realise that this (and any other responsible forum) would not put out to the general public how to by pass passwords. I should have just asked has anyone else had this problem? and was really asking if there was a period in which access would bve denied via the password and then on re entering the correct password after a period of time we would be able to get back in. Anyway on checking various sources allegedly there is no shutdown period with windows 7 passwords and seems that the Netbook just malfunctioned. We took it to the local IT shop and he got around the password problem in a few minutes (charged us £25) And before you ask -we had no sensitive information in machine for anyone else's eyes the Netbook is used mostly for browsing and emailing etc. In fact I don't know why a password was needed as no one else has access in this house so now with no password to go wrong we hope all is well. Thanks again for all your help. This forum has been a big help when things crop up. Ray Quote
KenB Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Hi Ray Thanks for the feedback. The £25 was not too bad considering :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
