Hi,

Have an ancient P3 XP which is still running great but running out of IDE Hard Drive capacity. This pc has a zip drive which is never used now. I saved all my zip discs to CD ages ago anyway.

My question is, can I unhitch the zip drive and hook up the IDE cable to an auxiliary (slave jumper) Hard Drive please?

Thanks,

Ric

Hi and welcome to ExTS

So - you want to use another IDE HDD on the IDE cable originally used by the zip drive ?

I can see no reason why you can't do this.

Do you have a slot for the HDD ? - not that it really matters

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
