Cyrus Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 My PC connects to the internet intermittently. It is wired to the router by a cable. I get 5-15 seconds of connection and then lose it for several minutes, then another 5-15 seconds of connectivity. The cable is OK as I have tested it with a laptop so I suspect it's a hardware issue on my PC. Any ideas please? Also is it possible to by a separate "internet" card which I can install in one of the free slots on my motherboard. If yes can you please tell me the correct name for this so I can do a search. Will this solve the problem? Look forward to your replies. Cyrus Quote
maynardvdm Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Hi The "Internet card" is a network card that can be bought separately. Here is an example of one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Link-DFE-530TX-100Mbps-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B00004SYNX/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1349153172&sr=8-3 Quote We are all members helping other members. Cyrus Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Brilliant, thank you. I will get one and try it out. Your help is much appreciated. Quote
KenB Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 It would help if you could try a different computer ( laptop ? ) connected to the router. If this drops out too then it is a router problem.
