bj43cj47 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 'morning all. I'm shortly moving house to a property that has no broadband connection. The question is, prior to getting set up with a provider, how can we use our laptop which at present is linked to broadband with BT Internet. Thanks in anticipation. BeeJay Quote
usmanozzy786 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 You will have to buy the router (your broadband provider should give you 1 for free) then you will be able to use wifi to connect to ur router from your laptop, I hope thats what you wanted to know. :) Quote
bj43cj47 Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 Thanks for that. I'll probably come across as a numpty, but the router in use now at our present address has 3 connections, one to the BT phone line, one to the laptop, & one to the power outlet. This present arrangement will be okay when we get BT to transfer our acc to our new address (that's if we stay with them) but until then, what's our course of action, to be able to use the laptop in the new house that only has a normal BT phone line. KenB Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Hi BeeJay You could take a look at this: click here It is a bit expensive - but if only for a short time it may solve your problem. If you already have unlimited BT then this is free. EDIT: just read your last post ..... Is this what you need ? http://www.broadband.co.uk/guides/change-provider/ Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
