USB Headset randomly stops working

Hey guys. I recently bought a of Sennheiser PC 333D USB headset and so far they are great apart from one problem: they seem to randomly 'turn off'. The sound and mic stop working and its as if they had just disconnected from my computer. If i disconnect the headset from the USB port and reconnect it, they work again but i have to restart every application to get sound back. The disconnects start to happen after around 2 hours of use and they seem to be more frequent when the virtual surround sound is on. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

What we need to do is isolate whether it is the head set or the computer at fault, the best, and for you really the only way, is to see how well the headset works on a different computer, if you have one, or if not a friends.

Let us know if that can be done.
