My mom and I are in a bit of a pickle here. She teaches science and has attempted to download a few programs onto her computer, but Windows Defender is not allowing her to open it, and often removes the program. I know it's safe because I've used it on

my own computer. However, when I attempt to disable real-time protection, it says "Some settings are managed by your organization" which would be her school. I did a quick google search and people told me to use "gpedit.msc" but it says "Failed to open the

Group Policy Object on this computer. You might not have the appropriate rights." I am really confused and all I want is to disable this antivirus. Any advice?
