lD3C Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 At the end of August I got a custom PC built for me. It's only problem is that it freezes and goes to BSOD quite a lot when i'm playing games. I contacted the company that built it and they gave me various tests (mem test + GPU tests) but they all passed. So I downloaded Whocrashed and got the results you can see below, but I don't know how to fix it or what they mean. All drivers are up to date and i'm pretty sure temperatures are ok. Any help would be great. 11/08/12: Bugcheck code: 0xC5 (0xFFFFFA8083E4B208, 0x2, 0x1, 0xFFFFF80002FF590D) Error: DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL 13/08/12: Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFFC85E600001B, 0x0, 0xFFFFF80002E83DBB, 0x7) Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 13/08/12: Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF8000336A107, 0xFFFFF88006BA9100, 0x0) Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 18/08/12: Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF960001C363E, 0xFFFFF88003C91B20, 0x0) Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 09/09/12: Bugcheck code: 0xD1 (0xFFFFF880810FC9F4, 0x2, 0x8, 0xFFFFF880810FC9F4) Error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 15/09/12: Bugcheck code: 0xA (0x80000000, 0x2, 0x1, 0xFFFFF800030FF4C2) Error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 15/09/12: Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFF8A08AB1CF38, 0x0, 0xFFFFF880045A2D42, 0x5) Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 05/10/12: Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF8800536C63B, 0xFFFFF88008351CA0, 0x0) Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 07/10/12: Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFF8A0104000B8, 0x0, 0xFFFFF880012F0CED, 0x2) Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 08/10/12: Bugcheck code: 0x1E (0xFFFFFFFFC000001D, 0xFFFFF880088DD960, 0x0, 0x0) Error: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Quote
KenB Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Hi and welcome to ExTS At the end of August I got a custom PC built for me. Your pc is just over a month old. You need to contact the company again as it will still be under warranty. You also need to be careful what you do as you could invalidate the warranty. I don't advise going inside the case for instance. Have you added any hardware / software just before the start of your problem ? One thing you can try is a System Restore. Start > type in ......system restore ......Enter Click on "Next" You will see 5 dates - there is an option to see dates older if you check the box. (no files / data will be lost) Select a date just before the start of your problem. ( assuming that it actually did work properly at one time ) Also ..........if the above doesn't work for you ... Download Speccy from here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download Install and run it. Post the temperature results here. lD3C Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 BSOD Reply I have been having a blue screen problem since I got the PC so a system restore would do nothing. I downloaded Speccy and posted the results below. As I said before I have tested the hardware with various software and even the builder said they tested the hardware before sending it to me. One more thing to add is that this only happens when playing games so maybe it's something to do with the GPU? CPU AMD FX-6100 25 °C Zambezi 32nm Technology Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. M68MT-S2 (Socket M2) 40 °C Graphics WJ1780PI (1280x1024@60Hz) 1023MB GeForce GTX 560 (ZOTAC International) 46 °C Quote
KenB Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 this only happens when playing games Take a look here and see if your system can run the games you are trying to play. click here Those temps are fine - did you take them when trying to play a game or when idle ? lD3C Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Those were while idle. When doing a test of the GTX 560 the temperature was a stable 79°C. The graphics card seems to get a good fps when playing games too. Quote
KenB Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Those temps are OK too. Did you take a look at the "Can I Play it" link ? Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
lD3C Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 I use that all the time and the games I play always pass. I'm yet to test a game that hasn't passed. Also just today I have had 2 BSOD while not playing games, which has never happened before. The message was something about drivers even though I have made sure they are all up to date many times. KenB Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 can you post the next STOP Error message that you get please ? Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
lD3C Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 I just got a blue screen shortly after exiting a game that said "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M" Quote
Bluesplayer. Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Some reasons for Blue Screens New hardware - Software installed. Device driver - Video driver - corrupted - faulty. Faulty Ram - Overheating - Dying hard drive etc. Download BlueScreenView is may show us more than Whocrashed. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html Download link at the bottom of the page. Download > Install. Once it has scanned > Click on Edit > Select All > File > Save Selected Item It will open in Notepad - or save to Notepad > Copy > Paste. Then Post the last 5 minidump files Quote

Bluesplayer. Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 A custom built Pc, less than two months old - your next best move would be to return it to the Pc builders and have them run extensive tests to find the cause. You could be searching for a solution for some time and they are responsible for providing a working Pc. Quote
lD3C Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 I have thought about that but I think the packaging and sending would be too much hassle. Do you know of any tests I can run myself to find some possible faulty hardware? Quote
Bluesplayer. Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Where the blue screen error is reported, is not necessarily where it first started and may not be the cause. 3DMark - test your graphics card with the gamer's benchmark http://www.3dmark.com/ ------ Hard drive test. http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/ How to use SeaTools for Windows http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/202435en ------- I don't know what Mem Test you ran. Run a Mem Test. http://www.memtest86.com/download.html Download the ISO file from one of the links above to your desktop. Then burn the ISO to a Cd. Start the Pc using the Cd and run the memory test overnight or for at least 8 passes. It is best to run a full scan on individual Ram sticks if you can. Or run the test but if any errors are shown - then remove all sticks of Ram and test each Ram stick one at a time. But removing the Ram sticks - may invalidate the warranty on the Pc Run for at least 8 passes. ----- How to Test your RAM http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic207910.html Quote
lD3C Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 Thanks for your help, i'll give them all a go. Quote
