Hi.

I am learning Bulgarian, and I all I wanted to do was to set up my keyboard so I could type in Cyrrilic as well as Latin; I'd found some cyrrilic keyboard stickers on ebay, I was going to find out how to make my keyboard bilingual first, and then order these...

Anyway... So first thing I did, I went to the microsoft download centre and downloaded the Bulgarian language pack. The installation instructions were all in Bulgarian, so I didn't actually know what I was choosing... Anyway, at one point, faced with a warning symbol(black triangle with yellow filling and black ! inside) and an option of Da/Ne(Yes/No) I selected Da; at this point, my pc restarted and everything from then was in Bulgarian...

I didn't actually want to change my interface to Bulgarian; all I wanted to do was to have a bilingual keyboard, which could switch between the English-Latin and Bulgarian-Cyrrilic alphabets. I've tried going to the control panel->(What I think is)Regional Language Settings and playing about in there, switching all the drop-downs to UK English, and messing with some other check-boxes etc(I don't actually know what they say because they're in Bulgarian...), but no luck. Some of these alterations have led to the PC restarting, but it has still come back as Bulgarian.

I've also been back to the microsoft download centre to try and download the English language pack, but it won't let me... It says it's for special users only or something, and only tells me I should get windows 7(or something)...

So... Pleeeeease help me out. Note: If you instruct me on what to do, please note that everything is in Bulgarian so I won't be able to read it >.>, so I will need to be instructed by the symbols, or the relative positions of tabs/options...

Cheers,

Miles..

N.B. I already had the English Language Pack(it came with windows) before I downloaded the Bulgarian one.

Hi

It should be under regional settings

click Start, click Control Panel, click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options, and then click Regional and Language Options

On the Languages tab, under Language used in menus and dialogs, click the language you want

Then log off and back on again.

I'll try and find some pictures.

As I said, I tried doing that already; nothing happens... That is apparently for changing keyboard layout, recognizable alphabets/languages etc... i.e. What I should've done in the first place!

HOWEVER, what I DID do, was install a bulgarian language pack.... This HASN'T changed my keyboard layout nor my recognizable languages, what it HAS done, is changed the whole windows xp user interface to bulgarian... Which makes it EXTREMELY difficult to navigate and alter anything in windows...

So, what I need help with, is reverting back to the English Language Pack, or somehow getting my windows xp UI(user interface) back to English...

You could try a system restore to a date just before you installed the pack.

in English it is ...

Start > type in ....system restore ......Enter

Click "Next" .............select an appropriate date.

Files / photos etc will be OK

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Network Test
