Hi and welcome to ExTS

It could well be a driver problem.

Plug in your external keyboard and boot up.

Start > type in ......devmgmt.msc ......Enter

Click on the + next to Keyboards

Right click on the Sony Keyboard listed > Properties > Update Drivers.

If this doesn't fix it from the Properties options select "Uninstall"

Now re-boot.

Windows will find "New" hardware and install the drivers again.

From what I am reading your laptop works fine with an external keyboard and you can use your arrow and enter keys in the bios. From that I would consider that the issue is with the laptop keyboard. Something may have spilled on it or the flat cable that attaches the keyboard to the motherboard may be partially dislodged or just plain shot. I have one laptop with no keyboard at all at the moment and there is nothing in the device manager to point that out.
