Hi All,

We have a mix of Windows 10 x64 clients, version 1607, 1709 and 1803. We deploy the updates for these versions each month.

We're seeing a couple of odd issues that I suspect have the same root, but I can't figure it out. It's on all versions.

When someone goes to a website or intranet site that prompts for credentials, or a UNC with explorer, we get the following windows -

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/1308201

Or

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/1308203

All good up to now!

The problem/annoying thing is these windows tend to either pop up without focus, so you start typing and nothing happens (nothing *seems* to have focus at the time) or they pop up behind everything else.

This isn't a case of clicking off to do something else - you load ie, go to the site address, drum your fingers waiting for the prompt and either it pops up with no focus or pops up behind. Sometimes it works as expected though.

What could be causing this? Is there anything we can do?

*UPDATE

I think this isn't just Windows 10 - I've just realised similar happens in Server 2016 - I've been in notepad, loaded an explorer window and when I click back on notepad it has focus, but the explorer window is still on top while i type away in notepad.

I need to click the explorer window again, then notepad again to get notepad on top.
