We are trying to utilize the remote assistance tool in our domain. We have configured the correct group policies and the necessary firewall rules.

I find that others in my network can connect fine to my workstation through remote assistance, but the connection tends to last less than 10 minutes before randomly disconnecting.

The only thing I found in event viewer that might be related is a security audit failure. The event ID is 5058. Details:

Key file operation.

Subject:

Security ID: mydomain\my user account

Account Name: my user account

Account Domain: mydomain

Logon ID: 0x12B351

Cryptographic Parameters:

Provider Name: Microsoft Software Key Storage Provider

Algorithm Name: RSA

Key Name: DesktopSharing-{}

Key Type: User key.

Key File Operation Information:

File Path: C:\Users\my user account\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\Keys\

Operation: Delete key file.

Return Code: 0x80090016

This event seems to fire right when someone connects to me via Remote Assistance. I don't if this is describing where the problem is, but it seems unlikely to be a complete coincidence. I checked my folder for the file listed in File Path.

It does not exist.
