claira Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 im running windows 7 on a medion 96630 laptop, nvidia graphics card. my problem is if i try to restart laptop i can hear it working but screen is black but if i take the battery out and put back in it starts. thing is if i do a full shutdown and then turn laptop on it works fine. please help. If you leave the battery out and use just the power adapter .....does the laptop boot up and restart / shutdown normally ? claira Posted October 25, 2012 Author Posted October 25, 2012 does it when using battery on its own or power adapter. the restart is when i click on start and click on the arrow by shutdown there is restart option. Quote
KenB Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Hi claira, Try the following: Start .....type in ......cmd.......[do not hit Enter yet ] Right click on cmd.exe that appears top left of screen > Run as Administrator At the command prompt type ........sfc /scannow .....Hit Enter [ there is a space after sfc ] This will check the system files. KenB Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 This may sound odd but give it a try ...... Take the battery out and unplug the mains adapter. Hold the power button down for a good few minutes. Leave the battery and mains power disconnected for an hour then try the machine again.
