ExTS Admin BetaTime Posted September 21, 2018 ExTS Admin Posted September 21, 2018 Windows 10 RDP teal screen, spinning wheel icon, 15 seconds to open programs that open instantly on the local machine Something happened to Windows 10 RDP and Windows Server 2012 RDP in recent releases of Windows. The problem is that RDP is really, really slow... For example, if you open a program like regedit in RDP it takes 15 seconds to open. Meanwhile the screen is teal with a spinning hour glass. On the local machine however, there is no appreciable delay. I have 5 brand new 6 core windows 10 pro machines. They are rack mounted. The machinist in our machine shop access them using RDP... The machines are soooo slow over RDP its not even funny. They used tom work flawlessly sometime earlier this year when MS pushed an update. We are working on private LAN, with GigE connection, with the rack PC's on the same switch as the Remote Desktop clients... What did MS do?... How can this be fixed? I am experiencing the same problem administering a Server 2012 machine that was recently updated... Something changed that has made what was a good working environment into one that is almost unusable... I mean, if I wanted lack luster performance like this, I'd have pulled the old IBM XT out of retirement Any help would be greatly appreciated. More...
