Hard to believe that #Microsoft is running a scam but if your computer downloads a specific “infected” site a warning comes up on your computer telling you that your blocked by Microsoft and to call a Microsoft 1800 number to “unblock” your computer.

When you call the number, you get a Microsoft represent who gets you to allow them to access your computer so that they can fix the problem (the person speaks with a heavy Indian accent) . Once they are in your computer they start looking for other problems

and tell you that they will need 40 to 50 minutes to fix your computer and then present you with a charge ( in the past a friend of mine told me he was charged close to 100 dollars.)

Fortunately, I realized it was a scam and told Microsoft that I was not prepared to allow them to work on my computer. I then spent 15 minutes and was able to fix the problem myself.
