Correct Password not accepted after waking from sleep

I support a Government organisation, and we're experiencing the same issue sporadically, especially it seems with our laptop and mobile users. The PC will go to sleep, and when woken the correct password is not accepted. This issue has been affecting

some of our VIP users, and a problem raised.

 

The info I've found online suggests that it's a known issue that's not been resolved - is there anywhere that MS acknowledges this that I can refer to?

 

Most of the posts I've found online end up just suggesting turning off requiring a password to resume from sleep - that's not an option for us at all.

 

It's a hard one because it's so random and we're not always told when the problem occurs - I'm going to suggest that users select Switch User, and re-log in if it happens as a workaround, but something official I could refer to would be very useful!
