ExTS Admin BetaTime Posted November 16, 2018 ExTS Admin Posted November 16, 2018 I have had a Spectre for just over three years. Running Win 10 Pro and the SSD is BitLockered. Recently it was on sleep in the bag between locations and I got some kind of heat error and it blue-screened and died. Since then recovery won't work - the recovery key for BitLocker is not recognised (I have triple checked it twice - it's the right key, from the Microsoft site directly, which I've used before). My assumption is then that the SSD is knackered. I have tried the recovery key both from the blue recovery screens and also from the command line with the "manage-bde" options. I just get "The parameter is incorrect" errors. There seems no way either to recover the OS or bitlocker into the disk to retrieve files. In this modern age of course there is no such thing as a Win 10 reinstallation disk (or disk drive) so can anyone advise on the best route to potentially retrieve files? I actually don't care about the laptop - I'm going to upgrade, but I would like access to the few files I'd edited locally that aren't on the cloud.. Thanks in advance for any discussion or help at all! doonan_79 More... Quote Forum Squared | SEO Help Forum | Web Server Forum
