KenB Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Hi, When the machine freezes at the BIOS screen does it beep ? If so ....how many and what sequence ? ( 1 long 2 short for instance ) ============ Take one of the RAM modules out and try booting now. If the same ...swap the RAM modules over and try the other one. Let me know the result. usmanozzy786 Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 I dont think it has anything to do with the ram as they used to be working find just few days before Well it does 1 beep which means normal, then it freezes Quote
KenB Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I dont think it has anything to do with the ram as they used to be working find just few days before The only way you will find out is to try what I suggested. Well it does 1 beep which means normal, then it freezes This is not a Power On Self Test ( POST ) beep. usmanozzy786 Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 @ Kenb - I opened the computer and it had dust in it and also there was dust attached to one of the RAM, so I cleaned it and swapped the RAMs arround as you told me, Now it seems ok. If the problem exists again I will let you know :) Quote

usmanozzy786 Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 I turned my PC on this morning but the problem seems to be there again. Is there anything else you can suggest I can try? I dont have admin right Quote
KenB Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Well it does 1 beep which means normal, then it freezes I MUST get my glasses changed - you were correct with this statement :) I dont have admin right Why not - is this not your machine ? Is this why you are reluctant to take the RAM out and try them one at a time ? Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! usmanozzy786 Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Well its a shared computer, for some reason my brother did not give me admin rights. im soo annoyed off him he thinks he knows everything :( Quote
KenB Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Still suggest taking the RAM modules out - give the contacts a clean with a pencil eraser - and put just one back. Try booting up. If no go - swap for the other module and try with just that. Do you have another pc with a PSU that you can swap over to try ?
