Hi, I have got a belkin modem N150 and it came with a CD to install the setup process. When I put the CD into my laptop it installs but will not open the setup process. Do you know why this is? Any help would be great :) x

Hello natalie and welcome to FPCH :)

Am i little confused , so you put the CD in and it does not launch the Setup Software or it loads the CD software and when you click Setup you don't get a response ??

When the CD is in you should get a screen like this

Not going to lie, but not a big fan of this Box so far.

Lets see if we can connect without the software.

Are you going have a wire into your computer to the Belkin box or are you going wireless?

If it makes any difference (i have no idea), my laptop finds the connection when the modem is on and allows me to type in my password and then says it has limited access with that little yellow triangle. x

Cool , so looking at the manual for the Belkin box the connection information was on a Information card. This will have the SSID ( Network Name ) and the password. ]

Here is a quick video to show you how to connect to a wireless network if you dont know how to.

Great that shows we have a limited connection to the box as it is not fully configured.

Now open up your Web browser ( Internet explorer, firefox,) and type this in the web address “http://router” (you do not need to type

in anything else such as “www”) Then press the Enter key If you’re still having trouble running the manual setup option, type “192.168.2.1” in your browser (you do not need to type in anything else such as “http://” or “www”) Then press the Enter key

Yeah, i have all of the connection information, and I know how to set that up :), My laptop finds the belkin modem and i can connect to it with my password, the instructions tell me to do that first and then they say to install the disk and run the setup, but this is the bit that just wont seem to work x

no as this is internal address so it will not beable to get to it though the internet. You dont have another Machine you can try the CD on to rule out Possible CD Drive fault or Malware on your machine???? If not i have another test we can do.

Hi Natalie

I hope you don't mind me butting in seedy21 ?

Natalie - how are you connecting to the internet at the moment ? Presumably not through the BELKIN wirelessly ?

Start > type in .....devmgmt.msc .....Enter > click the + next to Network Adapters.

What is listed ?

Are there any yellow exclamation marks ?

When you typed in 192.168.2.1 did you delete everything else in the address bar ?

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
