Hi,

I have Firefox but recently it will randomly stop and I get the message "not responding".

I've uninstalled and re-installed it but it's still happening and with increasing frequency, so I decided to try IE and the same thing is happening with that.

Any suggestions??

Hi Mokles

How are you connected to the internet ?

Wireless or wired connection to a router ?

What is the make and model number of the router ?

Do you have a small monitor icon ( bottom right of screen ) ?

If so - when you get the "not responding" message is there a red cross on the icon ?

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi Ken,

My connection is by wire.

Router is Netgear DG834GSP v.3

Yes, I do have a monitor icon but I don't get a red cross on it when I get the message.

Since I started the thread I've been trying to use Paypal and everytime I try to log in it happens and the only way to get out of it is to re-start my PC. My husband's been having the same problems with ebay. We use the same PC but have separate accounts on it.

OK - when the message pops up again point the mouse curser at the monitor icon does it say .....Access ....Local and Internet ?

If this is the case your connection hasn't dropped out.

Try this:

Start > type in ....cmd .....( do not hit Enter yet )

Top left of screen right click on cmd.exe > then click on Run as Administrator

At the prompt type in ...

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt ......ENTER

Try the connection again.

Was that after using netsh int ip ........?

Run it for a day or two and let us know the result :)

No, it worked fine without doing anything, but when it happens again, I'll follow your suggestion.

Thanks.
